Rum Punch

  • 2 cups gran­u­lated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups dark rum
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 dashes Angos­tura Bitters
  • Grated nut­meg.

run-punchPut sugar in a small saucepan, add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil, stir­ring constantly.Lower heat and sim­mer for 3 to 5 min­utes until sugar is com­pletely dissolved.Remove from heat and cool. Pour result­ing syrup into a large con­tainer. Add lime juice,dark rum and ice and mix well. Finally add a dash of Angos­tura Bit­ters and pinch of nut­meg and con­tinue to mix.

Serve ice-​cold.
